Key Analytics
You need to be able to answer the following questions:
- Is the herd trimming enough to meet the stated trim schedule?
- Does the timing of the trim events match the stated schedule?
- What are the most common lesion types?
- How does lesion frequency vary by:
- Parity – be careful with counts that do not factor in % cows at each parity group.
- DIM – be careful regarding the timing of routine trimming.
- Month of the year – watch for late summer/early fall increases in claw lesions which might suggest heat stress problems.
