Adult Cow Barn C

DESCRIPTION

91-stall freestall barn built in July 2005. One-sided barn with a single three-row pen that can be split to provide 30 stalls for first lactation cows separate from the mature lactating cows during cold and wet weather, when cows are kept indoors all the time. Cows have access to pasture when the weather permits. Deep bedded sand stalls, 50-inches wide on center. Cows are milked in a retro-fitted double-8 parabone parlor in the old tiestall barn. The Rieman family is growing its registered Brown Swiss herd from within while also starting up a farmstead cheese business.
