  • Just-in-Time calving
  • 3-row far dry pen

Transition Cow Barn C

  • 1200 cows
  • Limited foot-print space for new transition cow building
  • Housing for dry cows, pre-fresh heifers & cows, sick cows and hoof trimming area
  • Pre-fresh heifers grouped separate from cows
  • Weekly pen entries
  • Just-in-Time calving on separate, existing bedded pack area
  • Manure solids-bedded freestalls, 2-row head-to-head post-fresh

  • 5 x 25 cow close-up pens
  • Socially stable mature cow groups from 30 days
  • Sand stalls, 54″ (1.4 m) wide, 10′ (3.1 m) long in a 2-row tail-to-tail layout
  • 30″ (76 cm) headlocks
  • Springing heifers traditional weekly additions, 46″ (1.2 m) wide stalls
  • Four 10′ x 14′ (3.1 x 4.3 m) calving pens
  • Just-in-Time calving

Transition Cow Barn E

  • Four socially-stable groups of 10-12 pre-fresh cows
  • Calvings may safely occur unassisted in the group pen
  • Corner catch gates in each bedded pack
  • Individual pens for assisted calvings and recovery
  • Clean work room with chutes, veterinary supplies
  • Headlocks at the feedbunk
